Being an entrepreneur has stretched Jefe Tha Goddess in ways she never imagined—it has elevated her life and, at times, strained it too.
“On one hand, this journey has built me. It’s taught me how to create something from nothing, how to move with discipline even when I don’t feel like it, and how to develop tough skin in a world that doesn’t always hand out grace.”
It’s sharpened Jefe‘s creativity and given her the opportunity to show her son what ownership really looks like.
“But on the other hand, it comes with a cost. There’s always something to fix, something to build, something demanding my attention. It doesn’t leave much room to just sit back and breathe.”
“Sometimes, the pressure and pain that come with growth spill over into my personal life, and I’ve had to check myself when that energy touches my family unintentionally.Still, I’m growing.”
Since 2025, she’s made a conscious decision to pour into herself the way she pours into everything else.
“I’ve been prioritizing my physical, mental, and spiritual health—eating better, staying active, praying more, and really listening to my inner voice. I’ve been detoxing—not just my body, but my mind and my circle too. And one thing I’m proud of? I’ve started celebrating myself more. Giving myself those quiet “you did that” moments.”
What habits didn’t serve you well last year?
Negative self talk, indecisiveness, putting others before me, ignoring my feelings, avoiding being vulnerable, working 24/7 with no breaks and not communicating effectively.
What made you feel the most alive this year?
Watching my son grow, creating new music, and finally letting go of the fear of failure. That fear used to hold weight over me, but now I move anyway.
What is your why? Why do you grind the way you do? Who do you go hard for?
Because my “why” is bigger than my fear.
I do this for purpose. For the younger version of me who dreamed bigger than her circumstances. For my son, so he never has to question if his needs will be met. I do it for my family—for my mom, my sister, my people who’ve been solid from day one. I want more for us. Not just survival, but real abundance. Joy. Freedom.
I’ve been grinding my whole life. Watching my mom hustle, working multiple jobs, doing whatever it took. That mentality is in me. But now, I’m building toward a future where all that hard work pays off—where I can live, travel, and truly enjoy the life I created.
What does your art mean to you?
And through it all, my art has been my anchor.
Music is my therapy. It’s been the one constant through every high and low. It’s where I put my truth—my pain, my joy, my thoughts I can’t always say out loud. It allows me to connect, to release, to just be. When I create, I feel alive. Fully.
How do you generate new ideas?
My ideas come from life itself—my experiences, the people around me, even random moments that spark something deeper. Sometimes it flows instantly, sometimes it takes time. But every time, it starts with a feeling… and turns into something real.
What does your work aim to say?
At the core, my work is about belief.
Belief in yourself. Belief in your journey. Faith that even when it doesn’t make sense, it’s still working out. I want people to know they are the boss—the “jefe”—of their own life. And no matter what it looks like right now, you can become whatever you decide to be.
What motivates you?
God. My son. My family. And the fact that I’ve come too far to stop now.
I don’t look like what I’ve been through—and that’s my power. And if I can keep going, so can you.
